Description

Welcome to the Arçais recreational boating area, set on a fixed wooden pontoon of 30 m × 2 m equipped with an electrical pedestal and a potable water point for connection and replenishment. Here, the typical market-gardening village, facing the Sèvre Niortaise, reveals its large manor house, its brooms and its port, as well as two wooden crane replicas recalling the trading activity of yesteryear. The canals — pounds, conches, broues and rigoles — bear witness to a past when goods and livestock were transported; today they invite boat rides and peaceful walks along the towpath. Between rehabilitated farms, functional heritage such as the former telegraph-telephone station, and landscapes of livestock, hay, mogettes and woods, the place offers a warm and peaceful welcome to regain strength before resuming the waterway route.

Arçais is a small village located in the heart of the Marais Poitevin, in Deux‑Sèvres. Set around a dense network of canals, it lives to the rhythm of water and the seasons. The place attracts visitors for its traditional boat rides, green banks and calming rural atmosphere. It is a convenient gateway for exploring the wet marsh and its interwoven water and vegetation landscapes.
