Description

At the Rives Nature campsite in Sixt-sur-Aff, a convenient service point on the riverbank allows you to empty grey and black water, refill potable water and park your motorhome. Located in the heart of the Vallée de l’Aff, the stopover offers a wooded, green setting, ideal for relaxing or going for a walk on the marked trails Les Hauts de Sixt and Les Landes de Bézyl (about 10 km). La Gacilly is a short walk away for its market and artisans, and nearby shops (bakery, butcher, supermarket) are within easy reach. Between manor houses, megaliths and the legendary proximity of Brocéliande, the site is a beautiful gateway to discover the Pays de Redon.

Tourisme

Sixt-sur-Aff (Ille-et-Vilaine, France)

Sixt-sur-Aff is a rural commune located along the Aff river, in the heart of inland Brittany. The village gives off a peaceful atmosphere, with bocage, small hamlets and meadows. There is a discreet local life focused on agriculture and nature walks. Its location makes it a popular stop for those seeking gentle landscapes and an authentic countryside.

Heritage and history

The village preserves traces of traditional Breton rural life. Local architecture includes stone houses and old agricultural buildings that reflect a farming past. There is also a parish church and heritage elements scattered across the hamlets, often visible from communal paths. Local history is mainly connected to the management of the bocage and relations with nearby towns.

Nature and landscapes

The Aff valley shapes the landscape: grassy banks, willows and wet meadows offer a calming setting. Hikers appreciate the paths that run along the river and the small country roads lined with hedges. In season, colors vary from the intense green of the fields to the more golden tones of the harvests.

Walking and cycling routes are suitable for family outings. Fishing, birdwatching and nature trips are common activities along the Aff. The proximity of neighboring communes makes it possible to alternate between quiet walks and more organized visits.

Local cuisine highlights Breton local products: dairy products, charcuterie and cider are easily found from producers or at nearby markets. The atmosphere remains that of a calm village where one savors the slow pace of the countryside.
