Tourisme

Cléden-Cap-Sizun (Finistère, France)

Cléden-Cap-Sizun is a coastal commune in the heart of Cap Sizun, offering a calm, maritime side of Finistère. The village stretches between moorland, beaches and low cliffs. The maritime influence is felt in the landscapes, activities and local life. It is a good starting point for exploring the wild headlands of western Finistère.

Heritage and history

The area preserves a typical rural and religious heritage of the region: small chapels, calvaries and fishermen's houses from past centuries. Local architecture remains modest, often in granite, reflecting traditional practices. Old paths and place names tell a history linked to the sea and coastal farming.

Nature and landscapes

The shores alternate between small beaches, coves and rocky coasts. From Cléden, panoramas open onto the wild spaces of Cap Sizun, where moorland and gorse border the ocean. Birdwatching and the spectacle of the tides are common there, depending on the season.

Outdoor activities

The coastal path GR 34 crosses the region and allows short walks or longer hikes to remarkable sites. Shore fishing, kayaking and mountain biking are common activities to enjoy the coastline. The beaches also feature areas suitable for sunbathing and family strolls.

Not to be missed

  • Pointe du Raz: spectacular viewpoint of Cap Sizun, accessible by car or on foot from the coast.
  • Pointe du Van: a wild promontory, ideal for views over the Iroise Sea.
  • Baie des Trépassés: a distinctive beach, known for its waves and stretches of sand.
  • The GR 34 trail: coastal sections for walks and coastal observation.
  • Local markets: stalls offering seafood and Breton specialties depending on the day.
