Description

The motorhome area of the municipal campground L’Étang de Titard, in Saint-Germain-du-Bois (Saône-et-Loire, Bresse louhannaise between Jura and Burgundy), welcomes you on the edge of a pond in a calm, hilly natural setting. Accessible 24 hours via an automated rising barrier, it offers parking, a grey and black water drainage point, a potable water supply point and electrical hookups at the pitches. On site, toilets, showers and a laundry are available (seasonal services), and the village center, reachable on foot, offers a bakery, pharmacy, supermarket and a petrol station. Also enjoy the Saveurs market on Saturday morning, local events, outdoor activities (hiking, fishing, horseback riding, tennis) and a nearby intermunicipal swimming pool.

Tourisme

Saint-Germain-du-Bois (Saône-et-Loire, France)

Saint-Germain-du-Bois is a small rural commune in the Saône‑et‑Loire department, in Bourgogne‑Franche‑Comté. A country village, it offers a peaceful setting embodying traditional Burgundian life. You will find open agricultural landscapes, a few municipal buildings and a discreet but authentic local life. It is a pleasant starting point for walks and for discovering the surrounding region.

Heritage and history

The village preserves traces of an old rural settlement, with a parish church at the heart of the village and typical farmhouses. Buildings are often sober, in stone or with render, marked by 19th-century modifications in the modern era. Local history is part of that of small peasant parishes of Saône‑et‑Loire; municipal archives and local plaques help to understand its development.

Nature and landscapes

The surroundings feature bocage and cultivated plains, fields and hedgerows that change with the seasons. Communal paths and quiet small roads encourage walking and cycling. The region offers a gentle horizon, suitable for observing the Burgundian countryside and for photographing morning light or sunsets.

Gastronomy and atmosphere

Local cuisine follows Burgundian tradition: farm products, regional cheeses and cold meats appear on the plates of residents and nearby inns. The village atmosphere remains friendly and simple, focused on neighborhood life and communal gatherings.
