Description

Welcome to the motorhome area of Plouescat, on the "Côte des Sables": a friendly stopover offering waste disposal, water refill, electrical hookup and parking. 50 m from the Kernic Bay (Natura 2000 site), enjoy a coastline of more than 13 km of beaches, dunes and granite boulders, and witness the curious races at the marine racecourse, held every August since 1882. In the heart of a territory rich in megaliths, manor houses and 16th-century halls — where the Saturday market takes place — the resort is part of the Sensation Bretagne network and offers a free summer shuttle to the town centre (3.5 km). Careful landscaping (cypress, lawns and future hedges) and webcams are available to follow the beaches: ideal for hikers, water sports enthusiasts and festival-goers.

Tourisme

Plouescat (Finistère, France)

Plouescat is a coastal commune in northern Finistère, set between farmland and the Atlantic. The coastline features sandy beaches and bands of dunes that mark the rhythm of the tides. A small, human-scale village, Plouescat retains a lively maritime atmosphere focused on fishing and seaside tourism. You can feel the breath of the sea in the walks and the local cuisine.

Nature and landscapes

The coastline offers long sandy stretches, tidal flats and dune areas that change with the tide. Ocean panoramas alternate between open beaches and rockier zones, ideal for walks. Birdwatching and the tranquility of the dune corridors are simple but striking attractions for those seeking calm and fresh air.

Outdoor activities

Plouescat lends itself to coastal walks, land sailing on certain beaches, and easy hikes along the shore. Cyclists appreciate the small country roads connecting the village to nearby hamlets. Fans of shore collecting will find discovery areas at low tide; caution regarding currents and the tide is advised.

Gastronomy and seafood

The food focuses on marine products: fish, crustaceans and shellfish depending on arrivals. The crêperies and small restaurants in the center often offer menus based on these local products. There are also local producers of vegetables and cider, depending on the season.

Not to miss

  • The coastline: walks on the beaches and tide watching.
  • The dunes: a natural area for walking and observing coastal flora.
  • Plouescat harbor: maritime atmosphere and a starting point for short outings.
  • The market and local shops: fresh seafood and Breton specialties.
  • The coastal paths: hikes offering fine views over the bay.
