Description

Welcome to the motorhome area of La Salvetat‑sur‑Agout, nestled in the former Blaquière campsite in the heart of the Haut‑Languedoc Regional Natural Park (alt. ~875 m) — the town named after the “sauveté”, the place that saves. You will find secure parking, wastewater emptying and water filling, electrical hookups and access to sanitary facilities, all just steps from shops and the village center. An ideal starting point for the Plateau des Lacs, the Caroux‑Espinouse massif and on a historic pilgrimage route to Compostela. At ~2 km, the Blue Flag beaches and nautical bases (Bouldouïres: supervised swimming, pedal boats, canoes, paddleboards, water skiing) or the charming Gua des Brasses invite swimming and picnics. The “Terre Saine Objectif zéro phyto” and “Station verte de vacances” labels guarantee respectful nature tourism. Welcomed by Salvetois attached to traditions, enjoy artisanal charcuterie, goat, sheep and cow cheeses, local honeys and wild harvests (berries, mushrooms) to fully taste the region.

Tourisme

La Salvetat-sur-Agout (Hérault, France)

La Salvetat-sur-Agout is a mid-mountain commune at the heart of the Parc naturel régional du Haut-Languedoc, appreciated for its lakes and forests. The village stretches around a reservoir with wooded shores, offering a refreshing setting in summer and a peaceful atmosphere out of season. A nature resort rather than an urban center, it attracts hikers, families and water sports enthusiasts. The atmosphere remains authentic, focused on outdoor activities and discovering local products.

Nature and landscapes

The terrain is marked by ridges and massifs covered with beech and pine forests. The Lac de la Raviège (hydraulic reservoir) divides the landscape and creates beaches and coves suitable for swimming and walks. Panoramas from roads and viewpoints show wooded valleys and mid-mountain horizons.

Outdoor activities and leisure

Hiking, mountain biking (VTT), fishing and kayaking are easily practiced here. Waymarked routes cross forests, shores and hamlets, suitable for all levels. In summer, recreational boating and picnic areas are heavily used by families.

Gastronomy and local products

The cuisine highlights simple mountain fare: artisanal charcuterie, local cheeses and honeys from the region. Village restaurants often offer nourishing dishes and local produce.
