Description

Welcome to our friendly rest area in Brionne, ideal for motorhome users, campers, caravaners and cycle tourists. You will find spacious pitches, separated by hedges to preserve privacy, each equipped with an individual electrical hookup. The area offers self-service emptying and water refilling, as well as a full sanitary block with showers, toilets, sinks and dishwashing area closed individually. Located on the edge of the Risle and bordering a hiking trail, it offers direct access to the water, gentle connections via a nearby greenway and beautiful landscapes of apple orchards and meadows; the Brionne market takes place regularly in the morning (days indicated on site).

Tourisme

Brionne (Eure, France)

Brionne is a small Normandy town with discreet charm, marked by a compact old center and a riverside life. You will often find well-preserved timber-framed houses and narrow streets that tell the local history. The Charentonne, which crosses the town, structures the urban landscape and offers quiet walks. Brionne also serves as a gateway to the hedged countryside (bocage) of the Eure.

Heritage and history

The heart of Brionne features a collection of old buildings where timber-framed façades sit alongside stone houses. Medieval history remains legible in the town layout and certain religious buildings. Several civic buildings bear witness to urban developments between the Middle Ages and later centuries, without major contemporary interventions that would denature the site.

Architecture and traditional buildings

Half-timbered façades and slate or tile roofs give a strong visual identity. Cobblestone streets and narrow passages invite wandering. There are also town mansions and rural constructions adapted to the Norman climate, often restored by local owners.

Nature and walks

The Charentonne offers shaded banks suitable for walking and discreet birdwatching. The immediate surroundings alternate bocage, small woods and meadows, ideal for short hikes on foot or by bike. The surrounding countryside reflects the typical agricultural landscape of the Eure.

Not to miss

  • Historic center: stroll among timber-framed houses and old lanes.
  • Église Notre-Dame: religious building visible in the urban landscape, dating from several centuries.
  • Banks of the Charentonne: peaceful walks along the river.
  • Local market: Norman market atmosphere (check opening days).
