Ondres (Landes, France)
Ondres is a quiet coastal commune in the southwest, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and protected by a coastal pine forest typical of the Landes. A village appreciated for its fine sandy beaches and family atmosphere, it also serves as a convenient base for exploring the Basque coast and neighboring resorts. The proximity of the railway makes access easy from Bayonne and Biarritz. There is simple accommodation, local shops and a relaxed off-season atmosphere.
Nature and landscapes
The Ondres coast offers a long sandy beach, framed by dunes and a pine forest. Walks on foot or by bike along the shoreline allow observation of dune dynamics and the ocean glows at sunrise or sunset. The wooded area behind the beach invites tranquility, away from main roads.
