Description

Welcome to the Peyrolles-en-Provence motorhome area, ideally located at the entrance of the village and just a few minutes' walk from the center and shops. You will find parking, waste emptying, electrical hookup and a potable water supply point on site. A pedestrian path connects the area to Lake Peyrolles in about 15 minutes, where swimming, fishing, water sports, a health trail and a fitness area await you; a pétanque court is located very close by. For walkers, the Loubatas trail offers a loop of about 4.5 km through the Provençal forest. Also enjoy the local markets (Wednesday, Friday producers, Saturday greengrocers), musical events, rallies and vintage vehicle exhibitions, regular flea markets and the festive evenings of the "Nuits du Château".

Tourisme

Peyrolles-en-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône, France)

Peyrolles-en-Provence is a Provençal village located in the Aix hinterland, on the edge of a bright garrigue. The town retains a traditional appearance: narrow streets, stone houses and a calm atmosphere. One easily senses the omnipresence of the Mediterranean landscape, between low hills and olive groves. The village also serves as a convenient starting point for exploring the surroundings of Aix-en-Provence.

Heritage and history

The centre displays the charm of an old village with stone facades and a village church that punctuates the square. The housing reflects the rural developments of Provence, between peasant constructions and more recent adaptations. Local historical traces are modest but visible in the urban fabric.

Nature and landscapes

Around Peyrolles stretches a typical garrigue: evergreen oaks, pines, rosemary and scents of thyme. The hills offer open views over the plain and, in clear weather, over the surrounding massifs. Trails and small rural roads are well suited to walks or bike rides.

Outdoor activities

The proximity of natural areas invites hiking, mountain biking and observing Mediterranean flora. Routes are often not very technical, suitable for families as well as occasional hikers. The landscapes change with the seasons, from the bright green of spring to the golden tones of summer.

Food and wine

Local cuisine highlights Provençal products: olive oil, seasonal vegetables and aromatic herbs. Nearby there are estates attached to the Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence appellation, where wine tasting is a pleasant way to relax after a day of walking.

Not to be missed

  • Town centre: strolling through the lanes and stone facades.
  • The village church: architectural landmark and viewpoint over the square.
  • Garrigue hikes: short trails with Mediterranean panoramas.
  • Tasting — Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence: local wines to discover.
  • Proximity to Aix-en-Provence: cultural excursions at a short distance.
