Description

Welcome to the Jugon‑les‑Lacs motorhome area (Côtes‑d’Armor), nestled in the Arguenon valley at the heart of a newly formed commune with an authentic character, labeled Petites Cités de Caractère and Village étape. You will find parking, electrical hookups, drainage and water-filling points — with a reception terminal accessible 24h/24 and a rising barrier for access control. The village, built around the water, offers a peaceful atmosphere, local shops and a friendly market; enjoy the footbridge that forms a walking loop of about 45 minutes around the Grand Étang, ideal for observing cormorants and grey herons. Fishing and nature activities are offered by the Maison Pêche et Nature des Côtes‑d’Armor, and at ~3 km you will find a cable water-ski and water play facilities at the Étang du Lou. Please note a maximum stay duration applies on the area.

Tourisme

Jugon-les-Lacs (Côtes-d'Armor, France)

Jugon-les-Lacs is a small Breton commune organized around a plan d’eau that dominates the local landscape. The lake, a reservoir on the Arguenon valley, shapes activities and walks. The village retains a village atmosphere with local shops and quiet streets. It is a practical base for exploring the hinterland of the Côtes-d’Armor and reaching the coast within a half-hour drive.

Heritage and history

The town center reveals traces of a medieval and rural past, visible in the layout of the village and some old houses. You often find typical stone buildings of the region and urban elements inherited from past centuries. The local heritage is pleasantly discovered on foot, between narrow streets and lakeshores.

Nature and landscapes

The Lac de Jugon and the Arguenon valley offer gentle panoramas, alternating wooded banks and meadows. Trails around the plan d’eau are suitable for family walks and birdwatching. The place changes with the seasons: low-angle light in autumn, dense greenery in summer.

Outdoor activities

The lake concentrates water recreation: dinghy sailing, canoe-kayak and fishing are common depending on the season. Picnic areas and walking and cycling routes allow varied outings without going far from the village. Peace-seekers will find easy hiking circuits to follow.

Atmosphere and gastronomy

The atmosphere is rural and tranquil, with shops and a few local tables offering Breton regional products. One often enjoys dairy products, galettes and local fish, accompanied by cider or local drinks.

Don’t miss

  • Lac de Jugon: heart of the site, for walks and water activities.
  • Berges de l’Arguenon: trails and naturalist observation points.
  • Centre-bourg: stroll to appreciate local architecture and shops.
  • Itinéraires pédestres/cyclables: loops suited to families and cycle-tourists.
  • Tables locales: tasting of Breton regional products.
