Seignosse (Landes, France)
Seignosse is a coastal commune in the Landes, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and dominated by a vast pine forest. A recognized surf resort, it shares an active seaside culture with Hossegor and Capbreton. Kilometers of fine sandy beaches and protected dunes attract families and thrill-seekers. The area remains largely wooded, offering peaceful routes for hiking and cycling.
Nature and landscapes
The coast consists of long sandy, dune-covered beaches often swept by the waves. Inland, the Forêt des Landes offers shaded trails suitable for walks and mountain biking. The landscapes alternate between wild coastline, stabilized dunes, and stands of maritime pines, characteristic elements of the Landes coast.
Surf and outdoor activities
Seignosse is a favorite spot for surfers thanks to regular waves and beaches adapted to different levels. There are surf schools and equipment rentals. Beyond surfing, walking, cycling on bike paths, and seaside yoga sessions are common.
Atmosphere and gastronomy
The atmosphere remains relaxed, focused on sport and nature. South‑West products appear on menus: foie gras, magret, and other Landes specialties feature in local restaurants. Seasonal markets allow tasting fresh produce and experiencing local life.
