Jonzac is a small sub-prefecture nestled in the heart of the southern Charente-Maritime, in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The town developed around the Seugne, which runs through a gently sloping town center. Heritage and history
The town center is focused on the Château de Jonzac, whose visible parts date from the 15th–16th centuries and which overlooks the valley. The surrounding lanes preserve old houses and some urban remains that tell the town’s evolution. the municipal building and some religious structures punctuate the urban landscape.
