Description

Welcome to the Font-Romeu-Odeillo-Via motorhome area, open year-round at 1 800 m altitude in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional des Pyrénées Catalanes. You will find parking, electrical hookup, waste-emptying and water-filling facilities for your comfort. 100 m away is Skibus village stop No. 6 (marked orange), which in winter serves the tourist office and the ski lifts every 20 minutes from 8 h to 12 h and from 16 h to 18 h; stop No. 2 (Via centre) provides access to shops. The tourist office offers a seasonal welcome guide (winter/summer) and provides information and maps via its Facebook page and online. Also enjoy the weekly market (rue Maillol in Odeillo on Wednesday and Friday mornings, and in the town centre in summer) and a station dedicated to outdoor sports, with air quality and climatic benefits often praised.

Tourisme

Font-Romeu-Odeillo-Via (Pyrénées-Orientales, France)

Font-Romeu-Odeillo-Via, nestled in the Cerdagne at over 1,800 m altitude, is a mountain resort with a very sunny climate. The commune comprises hamlets and a tourist offer combining winter sports, scientific research and high mountain landscapes. There are gentle terrains suitable for walks, pine forests and views of the Pyrénées massif. The atmosphere blends Catalan traditions with a sporting vocation.

Heritage and science

The most remarkable site is the Odeillo Solar Furnace, a large experimental furnace built to concentrate solar energy; it attracts visitors interested in science and engineering. The village also preserves traces of pastoral architecture and rural chapels typical of the region. Local interpretation panels explain the history of the resort and solar research.

Nature and landscapes

The area offers clear views of the Pic du Canigou and the Cerdagne valley. Pine forests, summer pastures and plateaus favor easy walks and photogenic viewpoints. In summer, the brightness and altitude make hikes pleasant; in winter, the scenery becomes white and luminous.

Outdoor activities

The Font-Romeu Pyrénées 2000 resort offers alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and snowshoe routes. In summer, the same area is suitable for mountain biking, Nordic walking and easy climbing. Families appreciate the educational trails and safe areas for children.

Gastronomy and atmosphere

Local cuisine highlights mountain products: cheeses, cured meats and hearty dishes inspired by Catalan tradition. Cafés and small restaurants foster a friendly, simple and warm atmosphere.
