Description

Welcome to the Donzac motorhome area, at the entrance to the bastide and on the edge of the peaceful Lac des Sources — a village of Gallo‑Roman origin located near Agen on the Bordeaux–Toulouse axis. You will find parking, waste‑water disposal, water refill and electric hook‑up, in a shady, flowered setting labeled “Villes et Villages Fleuris”. Walk along the lake, discover the arboretum of 13 species, enjoy the picnic areas, the communal barbecue and the children's playground; the site, classified Natura 2000 and including two ZNIEFFs, offers tranquility, rich fishing and lovely walks. The village center and its shops (bakery, grocery, tobacconist bar, restaurant, butcher) are reachable within a few minutes on foot via a pedestrian path.

Tourisme

Donzac (Tarn-et-Garonne, France)

Donzac is a rural village in Tarn-et-Garonne, located in the Occitanie region. Set on hills and agricultural plains, it offers a quiet landscape dotted with fields and groves. The village retains an authentic countryside atmosphere, appreciated for short getaways and the proximity of the small bastide towns in the valley. It is a place suited to rest, walks and discovering a living local heritage.

Heritage and history

The village center displays a discreet but typical local heritage of South-West rural communes: narrow lanes, stone buildings and a parish church at the center of the village. One can perceive traces of an ancient agricultural past, with traditional farms and barns. Local archives and plaques recall the commune's evolution without great architectural splendor, but with a clearly marked identity.

Nature and landscapes

The surroundings consist of cultivated plains, hedgerows and small woods. Walks allow appreciation of South-West light, orchards and open viewpoints over the countryside. Country routes are suitable for hiking or cycling, peaceful and easy.

Gastronomy and local products

The table reflects the Toulouse-area terroir: farm products, fruits, seasonal vegetables and local cheeses. Small grocery shops and markets nearby allow tasting fresh and artisanal products. Meals follow the region's convivial tradition.

Atmosphere and way of life

Donzac breathes the gentle rural way of life: calm, friendliness of inhabitants and a slow pace. It is a practical starting point to explore nearby bastides and markets while enjoying simple and authentic accommodation.
