Description

Area dedicated to motorhome users and vanlifers located at the 3-star Camping de l’Espiguette, Le Grau-du-Roi (Gard), between the sea and the Camargue, as close as possible to the beach. You will find parking and electrical hookups there, as well as two grouped double service points for waste disposal and water refilling, ideally positioned next to sanitary block 12 for easy wayfinding. The campsite, organized into three zones (Zen close to beach access, Family with pool and activities, and Standard for convenience), offers three direct pedestrian accesses to the Plage de l’Espiguette — a vast protected dune area with long stretches of white sand and a Blue Flag. For terms and availability, book directly via the campsite's online form.

Tourisme

Le Grau-du-Roi (Gard, France)

Le Grau-du-Roi is a seaside resort located at the mouth of the Vidourle, between the Camargue and the Mediterranean Sea. It features a mix of wild beaches, natural areas, and active tourist facilities. The municipality also serves as a gateway to the Camargue, with its marshes, wildlife, and salt heritage. It is a popular destination for family holidays, water activities, and nature watching.

Heritage and history

The historic center retains the atmosphere of a fishing village, with narrow streets and low houses. The fishing port remains active and supplies local restaurants with seafood. Nearby, the salt pans and Camargue farmhouses recall the region's agricultural and salt history.

Nature and landscapes

The Plage de l’Espiguette is notable for its extensive dunes and wild feel; it attracts hikers and photographers. The surrounding marshes and lagoons offer vantage points for watching pink flamingos and migratory birds, characteristic of the nearby Camargue. Sunsets are often spectacular.

Activities and leisure

The Port-Camargue offers a large marina for pleasure boats, and many sea outings are organized (sightseeing, fishing, cruises). Water sports — windsurfing, kitesurfing, paddleboarding — are widely practiced. Cycle paths run along the coast for family rides.

Gastronomy and atmosphere

Local cuisine emphasizes seafood and fresh fish. The port terraces provide a friendly atmosphere, enlivened in season by markets and small local festivities.
