Description

Welcome to the Sousceyrac-en-Quercy motorhome area, a peaceful municipal campsite on the shore of Lac des Vergnes, a stone's throw from the Comiac stadium. You will find water supply, electrical hookup and parking spaces, as well as sanitary facilities, all on pleasantly shaded pitches by the lake. Located at about 500 m altitude in an agricultural and wooded commune, this nature stop, on the border of Cantal and Corrèze, is ideal for hikers and biodiversity enthusiasts — the hydrographic network of the Cère valley and the presence of protected wildlife enhance the site's ecological interest. For needs and outings, the village of Sousceyrac is ~10 km away and Comiac's main street houses the bar-restaurant La Caminade; in summer, the cultural events linked to the Saint-Céré festival add a musical touch to the stay.

Tourisme

Sousceyrac-en-Quercy (Lot, France)

Sousceyrac-en-Quercy sits at the heart of the Quercy, a rural area of the Lot marked by limestone plateaus and hedged valleys. The village and surrounding hamlets retain a traditional appearance: stone houses, lauze or slate roofs, and a network of country paths. The atmosphere remains calm year-round, appreciated by hikers, cyclists and travelers seeking authentic landscapes. There is a local life centered on regional products and Quercy traditions.

Heritage and architecture

The local built environment illustrates Quercy’s rural architecture: limestone stone houses, old bread ovens and dry stone walls. The village center preserves old constructions well integrated into the landscape. A few religious buildings and communal buildings bear witness to a continuous village history, often readable in the materials and roofs.

Nature and landscapes

The area offers panoramas of causses, meadows and groves. Routes reveal combes, viewpoints and modest but picturesque watercourses. Colors vary with the seasons: greens of pastures in spring, ochres and golds in autumn.

Outdoor activities

The territory is suitable for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Waymarked trails allow you to cross the hills and explore the countryside. Photography and birdwatching enthusiasts find simple, restful landscape subjects.

Gastronomy and local products

The table reflects Quercy’s terroir: poultry, farmhouse cheeses and artisanal preserves. Nearby, there are also wines and products from the Lot that go well with rustic meals enjoyed in the village.

Not to be missed

  • The village center, for its rural character and stone houses.
  • The hiking trails, to discover the Quercy landscape.
  • The markets and local producers, to taste local products.
