Tourisme
La Bresse (Vosges, France)
La Bresse is a commune at the heart of the Ballons des Vosges, known for its extensive forests and ski area. A four-season resort, it alternates ski slopes, hiking trails and preserved natural sites. The rounded reliefs of the Vosges offer wide panoramas without high alpine mountains, suitable for families and hikers. The village retains a rural atmosphere, with scattered farms and chalets.
Nature and landscapes
The area stretches around beech and spruce forests, peat bogs and high-altitude lakes. The panoramas from the Hohneck and the massif ridges show the line of the Ballons and, in clear weather, distant views. There are wetlands characteristic of the Vosges, rich in mountain flora and wild blueberries.
Outdoor activities and leisure
La Bresse hosts the ski area La Bresse-Hohneck, with alpine slopes and areas for cross-country skiing. In summer, the network of trails allows mountain biking, hiking and trail running. The area also offers facilities for treetop courses, summer tobogganing and water bases on some lakes, suitable for families.
Gastronomy and local products
Local cuisine highlights mountain products: cheeses such as Munster, regional cured meats and blueberry desserts. Several farm-inns serve traditional rustic dishes, often prepared with local and seasonal ingredients.
