Description

The municipal campsite of the Plan d'Eau de Mervans, in Mervans (Saône‑et‑Loire, Bourgogne‑Franche‑Comté), warmly welcomes motorhome travelers with waste‑water disposal, water refill, parking and electrical hookups. You will find natural, shaded pitches, benches and ping‑pong tables to enjoy the site. A short walk from the town centre (bakery, pastry shop, butcher, pharmacy, tobacconist, hairdresser, beautician), the weekly market takes place every Friday morning and a producers' market is held on the first Sunday of each month. The lake and surrounding countryside offer pleasant walks and a typically Burgundian setting conducive to relaxation.

Tourisme

Mervans (Saône-et-Loire, France)

Mervans is a rural commune located in the heart of the Bresse region of Burgundy, in the Saône‑et‑Loire department. A quiet village, it offers a gentle transition between agricultural plains and small hedged woods. One feels the typical rural atmosphere of the area, punctuated by farms and meadows. Its location makes it convenient for exploring Louhans, Tournus and Mâcon.

Heritage and history

The village preserves a simple rural heritage: brick houses, small chapels and traditional farms. The village's parish church, visible from several points, marks the local landscape. In the nearby surroundings there are several Romanesque churches and old hamlets characteristic of the Brionnais and the Bresse.

Nature and landscapes

Mervans unfolds in a bocage landscape: hedges, meadows and groves alternate with crops and ponds. This setting is favorable for birdwatching and peaceful walks. Sunrises and sunsets reveal wide perspectives over the plain.

Outdoor activities

Hiking and cycling are the most suitable activities to explore the communal paths and quiet roads. The proximity of rivers and local wetlands invites naturalist walks. Regional cycle routes make it easy to reach neighboring sites.

Gastronomy and local products

Bresse influences the table: Bresse poultry (Protected Designation of Origin) can be found on nearby plates, along with local cheeses and regional charcuterie. Markets and small local shops offer farm products from the area.

Not to be missed

  • Louhans: arcades and the renowned Bresse market.
  • Tournus: Saint‑Philibert abbey and the banks of the Saône.
  • Bocage landscape: walks and nature observation.
  • Bresse products: Bresse chicken and farm products.
  • Cycle routes: itineraries to discover the region.
