Description

In the Stade au Fayet car park, in the Fayet valley at Saint-Gervais‑les‑Bains, a 24/7 service point provides wastewater disposal and water filling, ideal for passing motorhomes. The paved, mixed-use car park accepts motorhomes for stays of up to 72 hours; benches are located very close by for a short rest. About a 10-minute walk from the village of Fayet (shops, pharmacy, restaurants, La Poste) and very near Fayet station, it’s a practical, central service point — also within walking distance of a climbing gym (Topo) and a casino.

Tourisme

Saint-Gervais-les-Bains (Haute-Savoie, France)

Saint-Gervais-les-Bains is an alpine resort nestled at the foot of Mont Blanc, known for its thermal cures and access to major mountain routes. The town combines a lively village center and modern mountain facilities. There are hiking starts, lifts to the ski areas and heritage related to thermal activity. It is a practical base for exploring the Arve valley and nearby villages such as Megève.

Heritage and history

Thermal development has shaped the town since the 19th century, with establishments dedicated to water-based treatments. the Fayet district concentrates the train station and services, while the urban layout displays period villas and buildings linked to high-altitude tourism. The parish church and a few valley chapels testify to the local history without monumental pretension.

Nature and landscapes

Saint-Gervais offers direct views of the dome of Mont Blanc and varied panoramas depending on altitude. Spruce forests, mountain pastures and glacial moraines create changing landscapes. Trails climb to viewpoints and high-altitude lakes, frequented for summer hiking.

Outdoor activities

The municipality is part of the Evasion Mont-Blanc area for skiing and winter hiking. The Tramway du Mont-Blanc leaves from Fayet to climb toward the high mountains, a starting point for mountaineering routes. Mountain biking, paragliding and via ferrata complete the offerings depending on the season.

Gastronomy and local life

Local cuisine highlights Savoyard specialties: tartiflette, fondue, and mountain charcuterie, often found in restaurants and refuges. Markets and local shops allow tasting dairy products and regional breads.
