Percy-en-Normandie (Manche, France)
Percy-en-Normandie is a rural commune located in the heart of the Norman bocage, in the Manche department. A new commune created in 2016 by the merger of local municipalities, it retains a countryside charm made of small roads, hedgerows and farms. The area offers a calm atmosphere, suitable for short nature stays or stops on the valley routes. There are local services and agricultural landscapes typical of the region.
Heritage and history
The local heritage is visible in the villages and rural dwellings: stone houses, small religious heritage and former farm complexes. Parish churches and calvaries punctuate the landscape. Local history is mainly rural and linked to the evolution of Norman agriculture; plaques and memorials also recall 20th-century events without being spectacular.
Nature and landscapes
The landscapes are dominated by the bocage: fields cut by hedges, orchards and meadows. Communal paths and small roads offer pleasant walks on foot or by bicycle. In season, the countryside dons intense greens and pastoral atmospheres appreciated by photographers and those seeking tranquility.
Outdoor activities and leisure
Hiking, cycle touring and horseback riding are easy activities to practice here. Local routes allow exploring hamlets, streams and modest but pleasant viewpoints. Nearby markets and producers make it easy to discover Norman products.
